The Mall of the Emirates is a premier shopping and entertainment destination in Dubai developed by the Majid Al Futtaim Group.

The Mall first opened in 2005, and spans around 2.4 million square feet with over 630 retail outlets, more than 100 restaurants and cafes, and parking for more than 7,900 vehicles.

In 2015, the Mall was significantly extended to introduce a fashion district containing 30 contemporary and lifestyle brands along with 12 new restaurants, with an additional 1,300 car parking spaces.

The 24-screen multiplex cinema was also revamped to introduce the Middle East’s first IMAX with laser screen, including a luxury cinema experience offering gourmet dining.

We managed the Construction Supervision team responsible for technical supervision, health and safety monitoring, and quality control of the Architecture, Interior Design, Civil, Structural, MEP in conjunction with the client’s Project Management Consultant.

This ultimately led to the successful approval of the extension to the Mall by all the related authorities having jurisdiction. This included all the fire and life safety systems and the ’cause and effect’ testing that must be approved by the government authorities prior to completion.

This was successfully achieved, and the extension of the Mall was opened to the public in September 2015.
