The Palm Jumeirah Cooling Plants project comprised two separate contracts, incorporating plant rooms, underground reticulation pipework, cooling towers, and chiller installations.
These systems provide cooling for over 2,500 apartments, as well as commercial, leisure, and recreational facilities, with a total cooling capacity exceeding 100,000 tonnes of refrigeration.
We were responsible for administering the contracts between the client and two contractors from Japan and the USA.
Additionally, we managed the design coordination and technical supervision across both contracts throughout the design and construction phases. The project encountered significant conflicts between the client and one of the contractors, ultimately leading to adjudication proceedings. We played a key role in the dispute resolution process, contributing to a mediated settlement agreement between the parties.
